Seriously. How cool is Den 4?! This energetic bunch recently went on some outings to see some amazing stuff.
On April 9th, this group of Tigers went to Greenwood Fire Station 91 for a tour. They saw the firehouse, and got a look at all the equipment used on the trucks.
Here are some photos, submitted by Den Leader, Erik Luther:
Can you believe another scouting year is almost over?! Pack 107′s Graduation will be held at 6:30 on May 21st at Bunker Hill Elementary. Cubs will trade their old kerchiefs in and advance to the next rank. This is a special event for our scouts, so we’d like to all the scouts and their families there!
We will also be hosting a cake contest that evening, which is open to all Pack 107 families. Bake a cake, (or cupcakes!), then decorate it with a Scouting theme. Our Cubs will vote for their favorites! The cakes will then be cut and served to everyone after the graduation ceremony. You can find ideas and inspiration by looking for “Cub Scout Cake” on Google or Pinterest.
Here are some of the cakes from our last contest, (May 2011):
Here’s a great opportunity to Do a Good Turn for The Children’s Hemiplegia and Stroke Association (CHASA), which is a 16 year old non-profit organization, which in turn helps children like Den 4′s own Cash Harpp, who suffered a stroke when he was only seven months old, then was diagnosed with Moyamoya disease. To learn more about Pediatric Stroke or Hemiplegia, please visit the chasa.org website, which will provide you with information, including facts about infant and pediatric stroke. Please consider helping kids like Cash by participating in this event, or contact Abbe Harpp about making a donation on his behalf.
Pack 107′s Pinewood is coming up this weekend, but scouts might also choose to participate in the District Pinewood Derby on March 23rd.
The information you need to know is below. You must register in advance. You can do that by visiting Pathfinder event registration.
Boy Scouts of America’s annual Scouting for Food campaign will kick off this month at our Pinewood Derby. Scouts will be given bags, along with instructions for collecting food items. Please listen for this special announcement and encourage your scout(s) to do a good turn for our pack and for our community! See the previous post for information on Pack 107′s Pinewood Derby.
Also at the Pinewood Derby, Kathy Luther will have a table set up during check-in to collect camp money and forms. If you receive an email stating that you need to fill out a new medical form, please click on the Annual Health and Medical Record to complete, then print the form. It can also be accessed by clicking the Useful Forms tab at the top of the page.
One of the Pack 107′s most anticipated events, The Annual Pinewood Derby, will be held

This year’s Blue and Gold Banquet was a huge success, thanks to the Blue and Gold committee, who hosted the event, and the families and scouts who gave the banquet it’s purpose.
Those who attended enjoyed a basket raffle, a delicious pitch-in meal, plenty of photo opportunities and more. During the ceremony, we honored all of the scouts who made rank and the leaders who made it possible. The highlight of the evening was the ceremony performed by the Order of the Arrow, who awarded seven Webelos with their Arrow of Light award, after which, four of those scouts crossed the bridge and became Boy Scouts.
If you have pictures of the evening, we would appreciate it if you would share them at our Shutterfly site, (link is on right sidebar of this page). If you don’t have the pack’s Shutterfly password, please contact Wayne or Grace.
Here are just a few pictures, shared by Tammy Meyer, who was the Chairperson of the Blue and Gold Committee. Many thanks to her for a job well done!
